As an Indie Author, one of the things I’ve struggled with is editing my own work. I’ve pained over each word that I typed out, why would I want to cut it out? Simple, it wasn’t needed. But, how would I know that it wasn’t necessary? I’m not a professional editor. The honest truth is, we all can’t do everything we want to do and do it well. Ever hear “Jack of all trades, master of none”?
So, after getting a rather painfully honest review of my first novel and having to take a long, hard look at what I had put out, I needed to figure out what I was going to do. While I need to save up for a pro to take a look at my work, I used a bit of my Google-Fu and found this gem that I’m going to share with you. Also, I’m going to give you this:
Make sure the information that you are putting out for your novel is what you want the world to see. The two sites that are in the article below, EditMinion and Pro Writing Aid, are fantastic! I have used them and I have been able to see a drastic difference in my chapters already. It takes time, but anything worth doing is worth doing well.
